Together with graphics and design, top quality photographs make the difference between a Web site that looks professional and one that doesn't. Not only must the photograph be high quality, but it must be converted for use in a Web site, which might include:

  • Scanning from an original print or negative/positive to create an electronic file (not necessary if taken on digital camera)
  • Reducing the file size to suit the Web site page and help the page appear quickly
  • Adjusting colour balance, contrast, brightness etc
  • Sharpening the image
  • Blurring parts of the image to highlight the main feature
  • Combining with other graphics to create a background or filler image
